True or False Multiplication Facts | 12 Times Table Activity Worksheets

Give your children a chance to apply reasoning skills with our 12 times table true or false multiplication activity worksheet. Pupils are presented with a variety of multiplication statements, such as 9 × 12 = 108 and 3 × 12 = 38, and must decide whether each one is true or false. They colour correct facts in green and incorrect ones in red, encouraging them to slow down and carefully consider each answer. This activity promotes fact recall and error-spotting, while supporting critical thinking and self-checking strategies.

Key Curriculum Focus

This KS2 times tables/multiplication worksheet aligns with the national curriculum by supporting:

  • Identifying and using multiplication facts for the 12 times table
  • Developing reasoning by spotting and correcting errors in number sentences
  • Applying multiplication knowledge to check for accuracy and reliability

Rather than simply solving questions, the 12 times table true or false multiplication activity worksheet asks children to evaluate and justify their decisions. By mixing correct and incorrect statements, it helps develop a deeper understanding and highlights common misconceptions. This activity strengthens multiplication recall through reasoning, encouraging learners to reflect on their understanding of the 12 times table.

12 Times Table in KS2 Maths

Children need fluency with the 12 times table to solve problems efficiently and recognise number relationships. For example, spotting that 6 × 12 = 72 is correct and 6 × 12 = 62 is not requires both recall and number sense. KS2 pupils develop this knowledge through varied practice, pattern work and reasoning challenges that ask them to think beyond the final answer.

Activity Idea: Multiplication Detective

Write a set of true and false 12 times table facts on strips of paper and scatter them around the room. Give pupils clipboards and challenge them to find each statement and record whether it’s true or false. They can work individually or in pairs. Afterwards, gather the class to review the answers and discuss any that caused confusion. This adds movement, boosts collaboration and deepens understanding of why certain answers are wrong.
