Year 2 Apostrophes for Possession Worksheets | KS1 Punctuation | Primary English

Year 2 | Apostrophes for Possession Worksheets

In these Year 2 apostrophes for possessive worksheets, your pupils will have a blast adding possessive apostrophes in the right places within a set of sentences. For instance, in a sentence like “The cats tail is long”, they’ll need to include an apostrophe for “cat’s”. Following that, your learners will encounter sentences that prompt them to think about which word in each sentence requires an apostrophe. They’ll then joyfully write out the correct word, incorporating the apostrophe in the provided space. To add to the excitement, your class will be presented with incomplete sentences paired with a group of nouns. Their task is to complete each sentence by putting the correct noun with the apostrophe in the right place.

This worksheet is designed to be thorough and repetitive, offering plenty of opportunities for your class to practice applying possessive apostrophes. Not only will it sharpen their skills, but it will also help them distinguish between possessive apostrophes and those used for missing letters.

Our Year 2 punctuation worksheets are aligned with the KS1 national curriculum and can be used with your ideas for primary learning activities, differentiation, homework and lesson plans.
