Year 2 Subtracting Tens on a Number Line Worksheets | KS1 Subtraction | Primary Maths

Year 2 | Subtracting Tens Using a Number Line Worksheets

In these Year 2 subtracting tens using a number line worksheets, your class will use a number line to solve a series of subtraction questions involving subtracting tens from multiples of ten. For example, “40 – 20” and “60 – 10”. There are fourteen questions in total for your pupils to calculate subtraction facts up to 100 in tens.

Using number lines encourages children to count backwards, a fundamental skill in subtraction, as they determine the difference between the starting number and the number after subtracting tens. Working with number lines in these Year 2 subtracting tens using a number line worksheets will enhance children’s conceptual understanding of subtraction as they see the distance between numbers and how subtracting tens affects the position on the number line.

Our Year 2 subtracting tens using a number line worksheets are aligned with KS1 addition and subtraction on the primary national curriculum. All of our Year 2 subtraction worksheets can be used with your ideas for primary maths activities, learning resources, teaching material, visual aids, games, differentiation, activity sheets, display boards, homework, and lesson plans.
