Year 3 Types of Lines Worksheets | KS2 Geometry: Properties of Shapes | Primary Maths

Year 3 | Lines in Shapes Worksheets

In these Year 3 lines in shapes (parallel, perpendicular, vertical, and horizontal) worksheets, your pupils are set for an interactive exploration of geometry! The worksheets feature various 2D shapes and task your learners with colouring in each pair of parallel lines with the same colour for each shape. This exercise is then repeated by colouring in one pair of perpendicular lines of the same colour from a different set of 2D shapes. Additionally, they are prompted to answer challenging questions about the lines and features of a pentagon, which is shown with its sides labelled A to E.

This Year 3 lines in shapes worksheet adopts a maths mastery approach to enhance the understanding of geometrical lines found within 2D shapes. With the help of this worksheet, knowledge of lines forms the foundation for understanding more advanced geometry concepts, such as angles, properties of 2D shapes, and symmetry.

Our Year 3 lines in shapes worksheet are aligned with KS2 geometry: properties of shapes on the primary national curriculum. All of our Year 3 geometry: properties of shapes worksheets can be combined with your ideas for primary maths activities, learning resources, teaching material, visual aids, games, differentiation, display boards, homework, and lesson plans.
