Year 4 Commas and Fronted Adverbials Worksheets | KS2 Punctuation | Primary English

Year 4 | Commas and Fronted Adverbials Worksheets

In these Year 4 worksheets on commas and fronted adverbials, the challenge unfolds as your class is tasked with adding the missing comma after identifying the adverbials in a set of sentences. Subsequently, two sentences are presented with blank spaces at the beginning, accompanied by two pre-written fronted adverbials. Your class will complete the sentences by adding the fronted adverbials to the correct sentences. Learners are reminded to include the necessary comma after the fronted adverbials. Finally, children will rewrite sentences, ensuring that commas are placed correctly to indicate the separation of fronted adverbials from the rest of the sentence.

This worksheet builds upon the understanding of fronted adverbials and allows your class to further familiarise themselves with the application of these elements in their writing.

Our Year 4 punctuation worksheets are aligned with the KS2 national curriculum and complement your primary learning activities, differentiation, homework and lesson plans.
