Year 4 | Shapes and Coordinates Worksheets

These Year 4 shapes and coordinates worksheets require children to complete a grid by drawing a pair of axes with equal sides, ensuring they number the axes from 0 to 10. Subsequently, they have to plot given points onto the coordinate grid, using three of them to form vertices of a kite. Pupils are then tasked with plotting a possible fourth vertex and drawing lines to connect the points, completing the kite. Finally, children are asked to write the coordinates of the fourth vertex.

This Year 4 shapes and coordinates worksheet will assist your pupils in recognising how shapes can be drawn and interpreted through the plotting of coordinates. Drawing axes, plotting points, and constructing shapes provide hands-on learning experiences that engage children in the learning process and promote active participation.

Our Year 4 shapes and coordinates worksheets are aligned with KS2 geometry: position and direction on the primary national curriculum. All of our Year 4 geometry: position and direction worksheets can be used with your ideas for primary maths activities, learning resources, teaching material, visual aids, games, differentiation, display boards, homework, and lesson plans.
