Year 6 Formal and Informal Writing Worksheets | KS2 Grammar | Primary English

Year 6 | Formal and Informal Writing Worksheets

In these Year 6 formal and informal writing worksheets, pupils will discern the formality of a set of sentences. They’ll identify whether each sentence is composed formally or informally. Following this, a variety of text types, including a note to a teacher and a letter of complaint, will be presented alongside a table categorised into formal and informal sections. Pupils will categorise these texts correctly by placing them into the appropriate column of the table, thereby determining their formality.

This worksheet serves as a reminder to learners that different texts can adopt either formal or informal tones, and certain texts are more aptly composed in these specific manners.

Our Year 6 grammar worksheets are aligned with the KS2 national curriculum and will support your primary learning activities, differentiation, homework and lesson plans.
