Multiply by Eleven and Search | 11 Times Table Activity Worksheets

Add a twist to times table recall with this multiply by 11 and search activity worksheet. Pupils begin by solving a set of multiplication questions such as 4 × 11, 7 × 11 and 12 × 11. Once they have the answers, they must search through a number grid to find each product, identifying the full number sentence (e.g. 7 × 11 = 77) within the puzzle. When they spot it, they circle it and write in the correct symbols to complete the multiplication fact. This activity encourages attention to detail and combines multiplication practice with a number puzzle format that children will love.

Key Curriculum Focus

This KS2 times tables/multiplication worksheet aligns with the national curriculum by supporting:

  • Recalling and using multiplication facts for the 11 times table
  • Strengthening multiplication understanding through number pattern recognition
  • Applying multiplication knowledge to complete number sentences and solve puzzles

Children must retrieve known multiplication facts and apply them in a different context. The multiply by 11 and search activity worksheet encourages reasoning and recognition skills, helping pupils to link symbols, operations and results. It also supports varied retrieval practice through problem-solving, making it ideal for boosting confidence with the 11 times table.

11 Times Table in KS2 Maths

In KS2, pupils are expected to use multiplication facts confidently across a range of tasks. For example, knowing that 5 × 11 = 55 allows them to solve both abstract and contextual problems more efficiently. Activities that combine visual searching with number sense help embed these facts while developing flexible thinking. The 11 times table also supports fluency with related division and word problems.

Activity Idea: Find and Complete

Hide multiplication facts (e.g. “11 × __ = 77”) on cards around the classroom. Pupils walk around, solve each card, then match it to a product card with the correct answer. A great way to get children moving and thinking simultaneously.
