Spin, Multiply by 12 and Colour | 12 Times Table Activity Worksheets

Add excitement to your multiplication sessions with the 12 times table spin, multiply and colour the answer activity worksheet. Using a pencil and paperclip spinner, children spin to select a number from 1 to 12, then multiply it by 12 and find the corresponding product on the grid. Once located, they colour it in, gradually building fluency and recognition of 12 times table facts. The randomised spin mechanic keeps pupils engaged while ensuring repeated exposure to every fact from 1 × 12 to 12 × 12.

Key Curriculum Focus

This KS2 times tables/multiplication worksheet aligns with the national curriculum by supporting:

  • Recalling multiplication facts for the 12 times table with increasing accuracy
  • Using multiplication within a game-based context to promote engagement
  • Applying number sense and visual scanning skills to locate answers

With a simple game format, the 12 times table spin, multiply and colour the answer activity worksheet combines fun with meaningful practice. Pupils must apply their knowledge of the 12 times table, then find and colour the correct product in a field of distractors. This repetition boosts memory retention while supporting pattern recognition, number identification and self-checking strategies.

12 Times Table in KS2 Maths

Multiplying by 12 is a key skill in KS2, appearing in topics like time intervals, dozens and larger scaling problems. For example, calculating 12 × 7 = 84 may be required in real-life applications. Pupils become confident with these facts through varied activities that promote repetition, visual memory and mental arithmetic—all of which are embedded in this resource.

Activity Idea: Spin and Race

Pair children together and give them a shared spinner. Each player takes turns spinning and solving a 12 times table question, racing to colour the correct answer on their own copy of the sheet. The first to colour five correct answers wins the round. This adds friendly competition and reinforces recall under time pressure.
